Located at 1161 Post St, San Francisco, CA 94109, TaishoSF operates as an asian fusion serving San Francisco in California. Google also lists it under beer hall, japanese restaurant, karaoke, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In San Francisco, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 5 pm–12 am. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach TaishoSF at (415) 829-2997; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is taishosf.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 294 reviews, which is a strong result for an asian fusion in San Francisco and suggests consistent service.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

As a Japanese born and raised in Tokyo, lived in Hawai'i with a Kumu Hula, attended KCC and HPU, I can say that this is the best place to eat standard Hawaiian style Japanese food and have the best karaoke night. I ordered 5 adult portions of food with beverages and it was $101. My server was a quapa, Hawaiian / Japanese / Mexican / Irish an elegant gentleman with great social skills. The first dish came out in a zip. They paced the cooking so that the food came out with 10 minutes breaks. Rice was cooked to perfection. I recommend the Vegetable Tempura, it stayed crispy till the last piece. Karaage was so well marinated and juicy. It will compliment your beverage well. Taisho Fries is a blast!!! It has katsuoboshi (bonito flakes), fried onion, shichimi (7 spices), green onion, mayonnaise, and ketchup. (I didn't use the ketchup). I tried their Chicken katsu curry. The carrots melted in my mouth. The katsu was a bit thin and chewy because it was overcooked. The curry itself was runny and thin than retail curry rue. If you love katsu curry, this might disappoint you. The best dish I think distinct here is the Kaula Pig Dinner Plate. Today is 7.30.2026 I got there at 10:20pm and didn'

Service really made the difference in here. Makao and Steven were very attentive with our food keeping us updated and went up and down with what we needed. We had a really good time because of them. Great place to catch up with your friends and have some beers. They also had karaoke and if you are into anime, this would be the place. Food was also really good, even if the kitchen was about to close, it tasted right! Would definitely come back :)

Pretty reasonable prices, especially during happy hour. The ordering QR code quickly got us food and beer, though the ordering site didn't show the happy hour prices. Facility was pretty non-sketchy. Karaoke setup left something to be desired. Song collection was middling quality. There were a lot of things we wanted to sing that weren't in their catalog but we would've expected. The song browsing interface sucked and you can't view it on your phone. Get with the times and get a modern phone-browsable karaoke! It wasn't the worst karaoke place (that honor goes to Pandora), but it's inferior to many I've seen. Overall a fun time at a pretty reasonable price!

Tasty authentic Japanese ramen. Spacious and friendly staff. The menu is not crazy extensive which means they are great at perfecting their recipes. A must try if craving Coco's in Japan. Oh yeah, there is also karaoke and you can sing while you wait for your meal!

Spam fries and the Locomoco were great! It's a bit loud but the closer you sit to the window the less loud it is. Service was super friendly and fast. Def coming back again soon!

Chicken with curry rice was warm and deliciously filling. Curry was thinner than I ideally prefer & not as much curry compared to other ingredients? But it was still good and I would get it again. $23 each (with 20% tip, $17 menu price) They also have a lot of drinks but are one of those pub-like bars that are trying on the food. (thumbs up to that). There was also throw-up right at the front door...
